Soccer One
The National Plan for Youth Football Development Soccer One project launched in August 2006 is playing a significant role in the push to get more and more secondary school youngsters back playing football. In its first year, (season 2006/7), Soccer One was introduced to three local authorities - Edinburgh, Glasgow and North Lanarkshire with a total of 111 new boys and girls teams being created. Season 2007/8 will see the project rolling out to 16 Local Authoriteis and 200 schools are set to participate. By 2009, it is anticipated that thousands of pupils per year will be participating in the programme, delivered across all 32 local authorities. The 20 week programme can be viewed or downloaded below.
